FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS

I was raised on Pro Plan dry Kitten food, chicken and rice formula.  I am also given a tablespoon of Friskies chicken dinner twice a day. I try to stay away from seafood and liver, because it upsets my tummy, and could give me the runs. Leave my dish of dry food out at all times because I like to snack on it, along with some water, either from the kettle or filtered.  If you want to give me a treat you can give me some half-and-half cream, instead of milk because my stomach can't handle it.  If you decide to change my food do it gradually over a couple of weeks, that way my system can adjust to the change.

HAZARDS TO BE WARY OF

When not watching me, please confine me to small quarters so that I will not have a chance to get into trouble, lost a chance to hide, or to get frightened. Keep me safely in doors at all times so that I don't have a greater chance of catching parasites, diseases, of getting stolen. Please don't allow me on your shoulder unless you have a good hold on me. A fall or jump from such a height can result in broken bones or concussion. My muscular co-ordination and balance are not perfected, so I don't always land on my feet. Keep clothes dryers, and refrigerator doors closed at all times, if you find it open check to make sure I am not asleep or playing inside. Plastic bags can smother me; doors can kill or maim me, so be careful. Another thing to watch out for are plants, because they are amusing and are fun to play with, but they can be poisonous and make me sick.

GROOMING

Clip my nails every two weeks using regular nail clippers. To do this press down between my toes and my nails will extend. Cut them at the point where they start to bend down, but avoid cutting into the quick. If my eyes need care, a clean, soft, damp cloth will work to wipe my eyes. If you see me squinting with one or both of my eyes, a couple drops of regular Visine or clear eyes will help to flush out any irritants, and make me feel more comfortable. Combing should be done on a weekly basis (if not twice a week.)  A good steel comb is all that is needed. You may bath me if you feel I need it, or if you want to make me prettier. If you want me to look like as show cat, get some motor master hand cleaner. Put this on my coat when dry, paying special attention to the areas behind my ears, under my armpits, chin, and back end, work in well.  Then rinse with warm water until water runs clear, then use dish soap (no conditioner) rub in well, and then rinse thoroughly. Then after you towel me dry, use a blow drier (preferably a quiet one), remember not to blow it directly in my face. Comb me while you dry me, and I will look gorgeous.

WHEN YOU BRING ME HOME

Put me in a small room (for example the bathroom, remember to keep the lid down) with my litter box, and put me in it, let me wander around the room. I have scent pads in my feet, so it is important that when I am used to the room to let me explore out of it, so I can follow my scent and find my way back to the litter box. Remember don't carry me some where and expect me to know where my litter box is. If you keep this in mind I shouldn't have a problem. Another thing is to invest in a scratching post, and then teach me to use it.  If at any time you feel the need to discipline me, use a spray bottle, so I don't relate the reaction to you but the thing I did wrong, and try to remember that unless you punish me right away I won't understand what I did wrong.

MOST OF ALL REMEMBER THAT ALL I ASK FOR IS FOOD, ATTENTION, A CLEAN LITTER BOX AND LOVE
